Chuck is a second generation California Realtor. His agricultural roots (he has a degree in Agricultural Business from Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo) provide a genuine connection to the heart of the Napa Valley lifestyle and an in-depth understanding of client needs. Shortly after he married his wife Jean, he founded an independent real estate company in San Diego County. After relocating to Napa Valley in 1983, Chuck opened the Sawday Company on Main Street in St. Helena. His agricultural background provided him with a natural interest in land, vineyards and wineries. He partnered with Jane in 1997 to open the Pacific Union Office. His daughter Amy is also involved in Napa Valley real estate as a Broker with Pacific Union in St. Helena. Chuck has held Board of Director seat on the Napa Valley Land Trust and various community organizations.

Jane brings nearly four decades of successful real estate experience to every client relationship. After graduating from the University of California at Berkley, she became a principal of TRI Brokers in San Francisco. A decade later, she joined Pacific Union Company where she was a top producer for their San Francisco office in the prestigious Marina area. In 1989, she married Ray Garassino, Vice President and Treasurer for Robert Mondavi Winery, and moved her practice to a St. Helena real estate office. Here, she specialized in the premiere Napa Valley real estate properties – vineyards, estates, and wineries. In 1997, with her business partner Chuck Sawday, she assisted in opening the St. Helena office for Pacific Union Co. Jane has held Board of Directors seats for both the Napa Valley Opera house and German Shorthair Pointer Rescue. She resides in St. Helena.

After starting the St. Helena office of Pacific Union, Jane and Chuck began focusing their Napa real estate business on luxury homes, vineyard land, and wineries. Today, their business is based on referrals from both past clients and other brokers who consider Chuck and Jane to be at the top of their field.

Pacific Union, now owned by GMAC Real Estate Services, has repeatedly honored Chuck and Jane as one of the Highest Producing Teams nationwide. Out of over 22,000 agents and 1,300 offices, they continually rank in the Top 10 in the nation.
